About Betsey, Animal Artist
Artist
I am an artist who loves animals. I have a BFA and an MFA in Studio Art. I also completed a pre-med program so I bring a love of science and a knowledge of anatomy to my art. I taught high school Chemistry and Biology for 25 years and Art for 10 years. My students were and still are a constant inspiration. I have had many solo shows of my work and I often take part in group exhibitions.
Family and Animals
My husband and whole family are animal lovers. Our favorite activities are those that include the animals whether riding, running, walking or, for me, painting them. I am a juried member of the American Academy of Equine Art
Sharing the passion
I'm so fortunate that my grand kids have a love of animals and art as well. We ride together and do art projects and of course, hang out with all our dogs!
Kids and Art

But even kids know that art is work. It's difficult and challenging but so worth the effort. I teach private and semi-private drawing and painting lessons. We draw many subjects but a favorite is painting animals
Passion for Art
I simply have a passion to keep creating art. I'm always seeing things that I need to paint. A great teacher once told me to paint what I love so that's what I do!
